Al Wazzan Optician is Bahrain's first optical business. Established in 1961, it has grown into a five-branch operation serving customers across the country. For more than a decade, the team depended on Fame software to handle daily work. As the business expanded, the old system could no longer keep up with branch coordination, stock movement, and customer service needs.
9T9 IT worked with the business to build a new optometry application on ERPNext. The goal was simple: replace the old setup with a system that is easier to use, better suited to the business, and ready for continued growth across every branch.
Optometrists can record eye test results in a structured way for each customer visit. The form supports common prescription values such as SPH, CYL, Axis, ADD, Prism, and PD, so the team can store accurate results and keep clinical records organized.
The system keeps track of lens batches and expiry dates so staff can see what is available, what is moving, and what needs attention soon. This helps the business reduce waste, improve stock planning, and avoid surprises in the laboratory and stores.
Front-counter sales and business customer orders are handled in one workflow. The team can move from quotation to order to invoice without switching systems, while customer details and delivery information stay linked to the same record.
After the eye test is entered, the system creates the next step for the lens or spectacle order. Staff can follow the work order from creation to delivery, collect advance payments when needed, and keep each branch updated on progress.
Managers get a clear view of each branch, including orders in progress, stock position, and day-to-day activity. The dashboard keeps the important information in one place so decisions can be made faster.
The reporting tools help the team review sales, stock movement, customer orders, and branch performance without relying on manual spreadsheets. This gives management a better view of what is happening across the business.
